Partners

Class Act Opera's three partners are experienced singers, Susan Boland, Geoffrey Hughes and John Cameron who started the highly successful Operatunity Entertainment Ltd. Susan Boland, one of the partners was the founder of Class Act Opera and under her directorship she will continue to produce high quality opera presentations to schools and provide work and valuable experience to opera singers around New Zealand.

Susan Boland is the winner of numerous competitions and awards. She has performed throughout New Zealand in concerts, operas, oratorio and recitals with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, Wellington Infonaut, NBR New Zealand Opera, and Christchurch Symphony. She has a passion for music and has achieved a name for its promotion and accessibility in all aspects of her work.

Geoffrey Hughes is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and winner of their 1993 scholarship to the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. He has appeared as a principal with the Victoria State Opera, Ballarat Opera Festival, Lyric Opera of Queensland, New Zealand Opera, Canterbury Opera, Otago Opera and Wanganui Opera. He has appeared in concert with the Australian Opera, Queensland Pops Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Royal Melbourne Philharmonia, Monash University, Queensland University and the Auckland Philharmonia.

John Cameron, a lyric tenor has a great love of romantic music including Victorian ballads, operetta, and opera. He has appeared in numerous roles in G&S and light opera shows and chorus and small roles with Perkel Opera, Mercury Opera and NBR New Zealand Opera.
