We are delighted to introduce the lovely ladies returning for our 2019 Luck of the Irish Tour!
Star soprano Bryony Williams returns home to New Zealand for our spirited celebration of all things Irish! Following her graduation from the Royal Northern College of Music, Bryony has been thrown into a whirlwind of international success. She has had the honor of performing in iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall and Bridgewater Hall Manchester. Notable performances include a UK and Ireland tour of La Traviata, performing in the Oxford Lieder Festival, and recently the title role in Mary Poppins with the New Plymouth Operatic Society.
Operatunity’s own Jessica Hindin has been charming Operatunity audiences with her captivating violin playing and personable warmth for over seven years. After graduating from university Jess (rather fittingly) started her career playing in traditional Irish shows in Galway! An international performance career ensued performing in countries such as Great Britain, Europe, USA and China, and with stars such as Harry Connick Jr and Elaine Page. Beyond her own performance career, Jess is passionate about music education and in 2015 was appointed Musical Director of Sistema Aotearoa, a charity providing free orchestral musical education for children in South Auckland.
Finally, a woman who needs no introduction, Operatunity owner and co-founder Susan Boland completes the trio. One of the country’s most beloved sopranos she has won all major aria competitions in New Zealand, performed with New Zealand Opera, the New Zealand Symphony, and Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra. An accomplished recording artist, she has sung on and produced numerous CDs, radio and TV recordings. We hear she tells great Irish jokes too!
With bewitching ballads to stir the soul, frantic fiddling, jigs, jokes and jollity, Luck of the Irish is sure to leave you with a bit of Ireland in your heart!
