SHOWTIME LAS VEGAS CONCERTS POSTPONED

To our amazing Operatunity Concert Family,

Since John and I started Operatunity 19 years ago, we have always acted with a genuine care of our customers and the highest integrity in business. Therefore, we have decided to act with an abundance of caution and not present the Showtime Las Vegas National Tour as scheduled in April / May 2020.

We believe that Operatunity is all about care of people. Nothing else is more important than that.

We are very conscious that according to all world statistics, more mature people are the most susceptible to the virus. As a company, our priority is your health and safety, so it would be highly irresponsible for us to carry on with this concert season.

As we are gradually ringing every person booked for the lower North Island Tribute to Glenn Miller concerts this week (so far we are up to the Carterton venue so don’t worry, we are getting to you!) we have had an overwhelming sense that you are worried and are also relieved not to have to make the decision to go to our concert or not go. Many of you have said you were coming to the concert because you needed a medicinal dose of laughter and music, but felt worried. Well let us make the decision for you in these uncertain times.

Please be assured that all money paid for this Showtime Las Vegas season will go towards a replacement concert, a concert of your choice later in the year, or for season ticket holders the first concert of 2021.

During the Christchurch earthquakes we presented concerts right through that horrible time for our Christchurch friends. The reason for that is we felt it was our way of helping you with a little bit of happiness, a sense of belonging and care and fun through music. We simply gave our Christchurch seniors something to look forward to. We so desperately want to do the same for you too, but only when it is safe to do so. We cannot wait to bring you some happiness and a sense of togetherness at our concerts and on our trips as soon as we are able to do so.

We are here for the long haul and we are all itching to get back to sharing the magic of music with you. I can hardly hold Bonnie and Karl down, as they are so desperate to get out there and spread the love.

We look forward, dependent on the global Covid -19 status and recommendations from our Government, to be back presenting you our very special brand of joy as soon as we possibly can.

With lots of elbow hugs, genuine care and love to you all,

Sue and John Cameron

Co-owners and Directors of Operatunity

P.S.

Joke of the Day to cheer you all up xx

Just imagine me (Sue) telling this joke in my terrible Irish Accent.

Paddy went to a pet shop and asked how many budgies were in stock. “We have 99” replied the shop owner. “Give us the lot” said Paddy, paid for them and left. He went to a tailor’s shop and had 99 pockets sewn into a jacket, put a budgie in each pocket, went up to the TOP of the Sky Tower and jumped off.

He hit the ground with an almighty smack and, Holy Mary Mother of God, it was a miracle he survived. He lay there groaning until a passer-by came and asked him whether he was ok! “I don’t know, to be sure, to be sure” he replied, “but that’s the last time I try that budgie jumping!”

I can hear the groans from here.

Take care xxxx
