To all our Operatunity Family,
We hope you are all keeping safe and well and staying in your bubble at present.
What a sad and crazy world we are living in, but all is not lost because we can heal the world with love, kindness and music. The overwhelming reaction to our recent Stage and Screen tour showed us how important it is to enjoy live music, friendship and some fun and indeed have something really nice to look forward to. John and I, however, are also very conscious of your health and well being and do not want to put anyone at risk. We have to weigh up your health and safety, the wish to make a real difference in people’s lives by giving happiness through music and also our responsibilities to our staff and artists.
The Fabulous 50s show is a concert that has got everyone buzzing. It is a happy show, the music has a feel-good charm and uplifting quality about it, and we really want to bring it to you if we can. It will make a difference to people at present. With this in mind we are working towards rescheduling all our 50s shows to later in the year. This means shows will not be going ahead on their scheduled dates this week and in the next few weeks. We will come back to you with new dates as soon as possible.
If you are in Pukekohe, Whangerei or Remuera and received an email reminder for your Fabulous 50s concert, please disregard this as they were automated, our apologies.
There are several factors to take into account:
-Enough time to control this current outbreak before we start the season of concerts, so we do not put people at risk,
-Time to sort out venue availability,
-Artist availability too - Russell Dixon is not available due to other work commitments so I am delighted to announce that our fabulous tenor and friend Cameron Barclay has agreed to join Bonnie and Karl for our rescheduled Fab 50s shows with our band. What a team!
But please don’t forget about our Happiness Half Hour shows. If you haven’t had a chance to watch them, here is the link to our finale show hour long special >>> https://youtu.be/i12bn3XYB8Q
And remember at the moment the words of this famous song are just so appropriate 'Love changes everything'. >>> https://youtu.be/KL_riMZ5n4A
We will be back in touch as soon as we can.
Stay safe and well, avoid the negativity, celebrate the good in people and keep your chins up. As they say, this too, will end.
With our love and very best wishes,
Sue, John, Bonnie, Karl, Sonja, Kelly and all the team at Operatunity
