SATURDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2025 AUCKLAND - NEW YORK

Sofitel New York Hotel, New York (4 nights)

New York is one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world! Filled with theatres, the Metropolitan Opera, great shops, Central Park, Manhattan, Hudson River, United Nations, Empire State Building, 5th Avenue and Times Square where we will be based for the next four nights.

 

We fly to New York, landing about the same time as we leave!

SUNDAY 28 SEPTEMBER 2025 (B, D)

Highlights Include: 

• Today we enjoy a driving tour of New York, which will take us to some of the major sights of the city. 

• Beginning in Midtown Manhattan on 42nd Street our tour includes Times Square, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Greenwich Village, Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown, and Ground Zero, where the World Trade Centre Towers once stood and on to the United Nations Headquarters. 

• We then continue to the Upper West Side home of many wealthy and prominent New Yorkers. On the way we will see glamorous Fifth Avenue with its fine homes and shops, also Rockefeller Centre and the New AOL Time Warner Building at Columbus Circle as well as the Lincoln Centre – famous for its performing arts, and world famous museums like the Guggenheim and the Museum of Modern Art. 

• Tonight we enjoy our welcome dinner at an iconic New York restaurant with music from our great hosts, Karl, Marian and Russ.

MONDAY 29 SEPTEMBER 2025 (B, High Tea)

Highlights Include: 

• Tour of Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the finest art museums in the world, followed by Neue Galerie which houses the famous Woman in Gold painting by Klimt. Many of you may have seen the wonderful movie by the same name starring Helen Mirren. 

• Then on to high tea at a 5-star hotel with a chance to walk in Central Park to enjoy the Fall colours. 

• An evening off to check out one of the great New York restaurants.

TUESDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 2025 (B)

Highlights Include: 

• Enjoy a cruise to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We experience the grandeur of New York on this 2-hour city highlights tour by water, enjoying magnificent views of the world’s premier skyline and a close-up view of Lady Liberty. 

• We sail down the Hudson, cruise around the Battery, up the East River, under the Brooklyn Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges to the United Nations and back.  

• An afternoon off to enjoy your own tours or go to Macy’s for shopping. 

• A Broadway show, one of the greatest experiences in New York going to Times Square and seeing music theatre on Broadway. (Show to be confirmed once scheduling is announced). 

WEDNESDAY 1 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L) MANHATTAN - NEWPORT MANSIONS - BOSTON

Fairmont Copley Hotel, Boston (3 nights)

New England’s largest city, Boston, Massachusetts, is home to historic sights and modern neighbourhoods; stores and restaurants with old-time character; and gracious green spaces as well as a beautiful waterfront. 

Highlights Include: 

• We transfer from New York to the Newport Mansions to tour The Breakers at Newport Mansion. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport’s summer cottages and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family’s social and financial preeminence in the turn of the century. 

• Lunch at Elms Carriage House. 

• Following our look around Newport and its mansions we journey to Boston with an evening off after a full day.

THURSDAY 2 OCTOBER 2025 (B, D) BOSTON SIGHTSEEING 

Highlights Include: 

• Walking tour of Boston which includes The Freedom Trail and the popular Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market.

• Time off for your own enjoyment of Boston before our dinner this evening in a private room with music from our hosts.

FRIDAY 3 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L) 

Highlights Include: 

• In the morning, we will travel through Cambridge and stop at the oldest American college, Harvard University, founded in 1636 before following the route of Paul Revere through the historic countryside towns of Belmont and Lexington. 

• We will stand on Lexington Green and remember the 77 brave Minutemen who stood their ground against 700 of England’s finest regulars before heading to Concord, past the homes of Hawthorne and Emerson. 

• We enjoy lunch along the way before we stop and tour Louisa Alcott’s house, much loved author of Little Women

• Show this evening at one of the great theatres of Boston, depending on availability.

SATURDAY 4 OCTOBER 2025 (B, D) BOARD OUR CRUISE 

MS ZUIDERDAM (7 nights)

Highlights Include: 

• We have the morning off to wander on our own after checking out from the hotel and then we transfer to our cruise in the early afternoon. 

• We enjoy our cruise on the newly refurbished MS Zuiderdam where we will not only enjoy elegant dining rooms, a $2 million art and antique collection, wide teak decks and spacious staterooms (ours all with private verandahs) but also wonderful, included shore excursions, and a chance to meet up with our group for pre-dinner drinks followed by dinner.  

• Cruise leaves Boston at 4pm so we are sailing straight away heading towards Portland, Maine.

SUNDAY 5 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L, D) ROCKLAND - MAINE

Highlights Include: 

• Today we arrive in the beautiful town of Rockport, Maine, famous for its historic houses, lighthouses and lobster. 

• Time for you to enjoy your own wander around this great place with great shopping and enjoy a drink in one of the many cafes by the water. 

• At 1pm we are off cruising again while we enjoy our lunch on board.

MONDAY 6 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L, D) HALIFAX - NOVA SCOTIA

Located on a rocky inlet on the Atlantic Ocean, Halifax—Nova Scotia’s provincial capital—is defined by its maritime geography. It’s a spirited mix of world-class history and nautical-themed museums alongside bunkers and fortresses that guarded the harbour, plus striking public art and sights, funky shops and excellent pubs serving up folk music (and good pints).

Highlights Include: 

• We include a half day tour of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Peggy’s Cove is the world’s most photographed fishing village and its lighthouse. We visit the Fairview Lawn Cemetery where 121 victims of the Titanic disaster are buried.   

• Drive along the waterfront with unique stone buildings of the first businesses in Halifax. 

See historic properties and hear of the tales of privateers and pirates and the founding fathers of the banking industry of Canada whose roots started here. 

• Free time for your own exploring before we set sail at 6pm this evening.

TUESDAY 7 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L, D) SYDNEY

Sydney is the largest city on Cape Breton Island, which is linked by causeway to the rest of Nova Scotia. Sydney’s attractions start at the harbour, where visitors can shop for locally made crafts and see the world’s largest fiddle, which towers beside the port’s cruise pavilion. Some of the city’s historic houses and churches date back to the 1700s and 1800s and are open for tours. 

Highlights Include: 

• Time for your own tour today or enjoy free time, exploring the past with a visit to Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, plus historic houses and sites. 

• We leave at 7pm this evening for an evening of cruising and dinner on board.

WEDNESDAY 8 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L, D) CHARLOTTETOWN - KING EDWARD ISLAND 

Charlottetown is the capital of Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island, as well as its largest city, though it has fewer than 35,000 residents. Despite its modest size, the city has an impressive number of Victorian houses and buildings and great parks waiting to be explored. It is also the home of Anne of Green Gables beloved series of books.

Highlights Include: 

• The second of our included shore excursions is a panoramic drive through Charlottetown to learn about the history of this quaint little town that became the Birthplace of Confederation. 

• The Trans-Canada Highway leads us through towns and villages to the Confederation Bridge, the longest bridge in the world crossing ice-covered waters and spans the Northumberland Strait connecting Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick with a chance to wander around Gateway Village.   

• Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush, where descendants of Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables, await our arrival and invite us to the old family farm. 

• Enjoy a visit with Anne, a carriage ride with Matthew, and a delicious picnic lunch. Departing Park Corner we will enjoy wonderful views of the North Shore including Prince Edward Island National Park. Our next stop will be visiting the Anne of Green Gables National Historic Site, the house made famous in the stories of Anne or you may prefer to simply enjoy a stroll along Lover’s Lane.

THURSDAY 9 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L, D) CRUISING GULF OF THE ST LAWRENCE 

A lighthouse on little St. Paul’s Island is a stark reminder of days gone by as we sail past this infamous old shipwreck site, known as the graveyard of the gulf, on our way through the Cabot Strait and into the Gulf of St. Lawrence. So huge is the gulf that half of Canada’s 10 provinces have a coastal connection to it. Perhaps that’s not surprising, considering that it’s the world’s largest estuary and fed all the way from the Great Lakes 1,200 kilometres away.

Highlights Include: 

• Today we are cruising the Gulf of St Lawrence with a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery, the facilities on board and a bit of R & R.

FRIDAY 10 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L, D) CRUISING THE ST LAWRENCE RIVER

Highlights Include: 

• The nearly 1,200 kilometre stretch of the St. Lawrence River is a lighthouse lover’s paradise, with more than 40 of them lining the Québec portion alone. 

• We enjoy a day of relaxing, some cocktails and a concert from our artists today.

SATURDAY 11 OCTOBER 2025 (B, High Tea) QUEBEC TOURING

Chateau Frontenac, Quebec (2 nights)

Sure of its charms, with its enchanting setting on the St. Lawrence, Quebec City enjoys a priceless architectural legacy, a rich and colourful past with surroundings brimming with exceptional natural parks and pretty heritage villages. The cradle of French civilisation in North America, Quebec City is the only fortified city north of Mexico.

Highlights Include: 

• We meet our guide upon arrival at the port and after disembarkation we enjoy our sightseeing tour of Quebec City. 

• Experience the charm of the first French settlement in North America. This is our chance to visit history firsthand. The Latin Quarter, Plains of Abraham, Ramparts, world famous Chateau Frontenac, National Assembly, Basilica, City Hall, Place Royal and the Citadelle are the perfect introduction to the city.  

• We then experience the Old Fashioned Tea at the Frontenac, the signature table of the hotel, featuring a selection of premium loose leaf teas, sandwiches, pastries, jams, fruits and mignardises.

• There is a chance to wander around the centre of this gorgeous historic city this evening.

SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L, D)

Highlights Include: 

• We meet our guide for a 5-hour tour to the Island of Orleans (Île d’Orléans) where we will enjoy a scenic drive through pastoral landscapes and an exquisite lunch in a beautiful setting. 

• On the way back to Quebec City, we stop at Montmorency Falls. Cascading down a 272 foot cliff, the falls are 1 and a half times bigger than Niagara Falls.

• We will visit an authentic Cabane à sucre Leclerc (sugar shack) to see how maple products are made and taste sweet maple taffy and stop for lunch. 

• This evening we enjoy a French inspired dinner.

MONDAY 13 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L)

QUEBEC CITY - MONTREAL 

Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal (2 nights)

Montreal is a French speaking cosmopolitan city, known as the cultural capital of Canada with its cute lanes and lovely harbour.

Highlights Include: 

• Driving day today enjoying the scenery from Quebec to Montreal, taking the scenic route through historic towns and lush wineries. 

• We stop for lunch and wine tasting along the way in a famous winery. 

• Free time this evening to have a wander in this lovely city.

TUESDAY 14 OCTOBER 2025 (B, D) MONTREAL TOURING 

Highlights Include: 

• Walking tour of Old Montreal learn about the history and see many of its most famous landmarks. 

• Highlights include Place Jacques Cartier, Chateau Ramezay’s garden, Notre-Dame de Bonsecours Chapel, and the historical Place d’Armes plus a glimpse at Leonard Cohen’s house.

• Free time to wander and enjoy some shopping or soak up the atmosphere. 

• Dinner this evening and a chance to hear a concert from our great team of artists.

WEDNESDAY 15 OCTOBER 2025 (B) MONTREAL - TORONTO 

Sutton Place, Toronto (3 nights)

Canada’s most cosmopolitan city is situated on beautiful Lake Ontario, and is the cultural heart of south central Ontario and of English speaking Canada. The city has been called the Hollywood of the North because of the number of movies and television shows that are filmed within it.

Highlights Include: 

• Driving day from Montreal to Toronto with a stop in the historic town of Kingston for lunch and time to wander. 

• On check in, an evening off to rest and enjoy your own dinner arrangements.

Highlights Include: 

• We enjoy a two hour tour of Toronto including the historical centre of Toronto, the sights, sounds and history of one of the greatest multi-cultural cities in the world. 

• See historic landmarks, soaring skyscrapers and exciting attractions as you tour the Financial and Entertainment Districts, through Queen’s Park and the University of Toronto and along Toronto’s colourful Harbour front. 

• Free afternoon and evening to enjoy this lovely city.

FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER 2025 (B, L, D)

NIAGARA FALLS - FINAL DINNER

Highlights Include: 

• Today it is a full-day tour through the orchard-laden Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls. You will enjoy a panoramic view of the Falls during your sumptuous buffet lunch at the Sheraton on the Falls Hotel.  

• Then it’s off to the Maid of the Mist for an exhilarating boat ride to the base of the majestic Horseshoe Falls. In the afternoon, there will be ample time for souvenir shopping at the Table Rock Complex. 

• We also stop at the Observation Deck of the mighty Whirlpool and Rapids and visit the Floral Clock. There are plenty of exciting photo opportunities as we wind our way along the Niagara Gorge via the magnificently landscaped River Road. 

• On our return journey we travel through the historic, picturesque community of Niagara on the Lake.  

• Final night dinner with music from our artists.

SATURDAY 18 OCTOBER 2025 (B) FLIGHT TORONTO -

NEW YORK - AUCKLAND

Today we have a leisurely start to the day catching our plane early afternoon before we link up with our flight from New York to Auckland, filled with wonder at what we have seen, music we have heard and the history and culture we have learned about along the way.

Mobility - Moderate Tour

This trip has a little more walking than an easy tour. It is a moderate tour for one of the following reasons - you may need to walk with ease for up to one hour at a slow pace or be able to climb stairs or be able to get on and off boats, trains and buses. This trip will not suit those on walkers and a moderate level of mobility is required.
