Our newest performer Tainui Kuru will grace the Operatunity stage for the Rat Pack Returns, touring February 28th – April 6th.
Tainui was an aspiring All Black before he found his love of performing arts. In his final year of college, he performed in Les Miserables, where a vocal tutor from the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts (NASDA) suggested he audition for the Christchurch based academy.
Now a graduate NASDA, Tainui is an in-demand entertainer, focusing more on Musical Theatre roles such as Beauty and the Beast, Grease, Saturday Night Fever and The Mikado.
Tainui is excited to be joining Bonnie and Rutene for the Rat Pack Returns concert, saying he enjoys the soul, playfulness and songs of the original Rat Pack, with New York, New York, Singing in the Rain and Mr. Bojangles as some of his favourites. Being his first concert with Operatunity, he says will enjoy allowing the audience to revisit the past with all the classic Rat Pack melodies.
Tainui also let us know that he is looking forward to the sandwiches!
